Recognizing My Gifts

Deciphering my own gifts proved to be a lengthy process. It's no easy task, considering a gift, by its very nature, seamlessly blends into our being, making awareness akin to a challenging game of hide-and-seek.

So, how did I uncover them? I listened. Recalling past feedback about my strengths and others' perceptions, I gathered information and reflected on points of consensus. Yet, I remained skeptical. This is how I entered a new phase: the denial phase. It was as if I was lacking the authority to acknowledge them, the famous: ‘Who am I to think this way about myself?’. So I set it aside for a while, until a need of recognition emerged.

That feeling led me to delve deeper into what lay beneath and answer the question: ‘What was I hoping others would see in me?’ So, one day, I intentionally set out to put my thoughts about my gift into writing, aiming to fully recognize and understand it. Here is what I found:

My gift

I understand
I understand like no one understands
My biggest frustration is not being able to share what I understand
Understanding for me is easy
Easy breezy
It is effortless, it is boundless
No need to study, simple curiosity
I observe, I listen, I connect
And I understand

Clarity of my mind
Able to see what is
Without any projection, without any digression
I just see and understand
I am a problem solver
At another caliber
Understanding the law that governs the problem is the secret to unveil the solution
I simply understand
It is easy, easy breezy
You’ve got a problem
I’ve got your solution
I understand
And you expand.
